With over 10 years of training and experience in Carnatic music, Rachna has developed a strong appreciation of the art form and it's unique cultural aspects. She has participated in the Cleveland Tyagaraja Aaradhana Festival while locally, she is part of the Wind Ensemble as well as Jazz Band playing both Alto and Tenor Saxophones.
Rachna is an Honors student with a keen interest towards environmental science.
Additionally, she is quite involved in her school, as a starting defender on the girls varsity field hockey team, a winter track athlete, and a varsity swing on the girls lacrosse team. She also participates in several school clubs including Red Cross and SAATHH (South Asian Association at The Heart of Hightstown), in which she, as a newly-elected Vice-President, has choreographed classical, Bhangra, and Garba dances for their annual show.
Outside of school, she volunteers as the PVSA (Presidential Volunteer Service Award) Lead for KCOB, a statewide Kannada cultural organization. Additionally, she earned a PVSA Gold Award for her continued contributions to her community.
Rachna is very grateful to be able to perform her Rangapravesha among family and friends watching in person and online. She appreciates their support and humbly seeks their blessings as she continues to embark on the next phase of her life in dance.
